It's been a long time since I last updated my journal on here.  I have since had a baby and continued with my photography.  There really isn't much to post...I'm doing modeling photography at the moment, as well as my usual stuff...though I'm waiting for the weather to get nice enough to do outdoor photography.  One of my newest hobbies is running.  :)  I need to lose weight big time.  I'm not getting any younger...I'm 31...and I have a family history of bad hearts.  So it's time I get my butt in gear.   I will be running a 5k (3.1 miles) in July! I'm going to die...I just know it.  Wish me luck!!!

After a lot of thought and work, I've opened my business and named it Playdate Photography, focusing on children mostly.  I had plans to get a used Canon EOS 30D from a local store, but after that process was all jacked up, and I left highly ticked, I went to Circuit City and got the Canon EOS 40D instead, new, with warranty.  I'm still learning on it and using Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 and GIMP 2.4 to edit my work...I couldn't afford the $700 Photoshop program...but eventually I will.  I've had several people book appointments with me but I don't have a studio yet (we're renovating my basement to open it), and so outdoor photo shoot

I'm pretty much officially opening myself up for business to be a photographer.  I'm still just using a digital point & shoot, but am looking into getting a new camera as soon as I can afford it! On top of that, I've enrolled in a class with a sought after photographer in the Rochester, NY area for August 2, 2008.  I can't wait for it.  :-)  I may look around for black and a white backdrops just to have them and of course a portable hanger for them.  Wish me luck!
