After a lot of thought and work, I've opened my business and named it Playdate Photography, focusing on children mostly. I had plans to get a used Canon EOS 30D from a local store, but after that process was all jacked up, and I left highly ticked, I went to Circuit City and got the Canon EOS 40D instead, new, with warranty. I'm still learning on it and using Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 and GIMP 2.4 to edit my work...I couldn't afford the $700 Photoshop program...but eventually I will. I've had several people book appointments with me but I don't have a studio yet (we're renovating my basement to open it), and so outdoor photo shoots...uh...are weather controlled. And yeah. Rain sucks. So a few were rescheduled. I have my official first shoot Tuesday at the beach, with an 8 month old. If his parents sign a release form, I'll post up some pics. Either way I'll get some nice ones of the beach itself.
